Transfers moves stock between two of the merchant's own locations, written down from both ends: the sending location records what it intends to send, and each shipment and each receipt is recorded as it happens. Sending lowers stock at the source; receiving raises it at the destination. Units that arrive damaged are written off rather than counted in. The cost of the goods travels with them, while the destination's selling price is deliberately left to follow its own product setting.
